Lakeview pastry

Visited a pastry shop on Burlington on Thursday. Don't often end up in downtown Burlington, but Rosemary had an appointment with a friend. I had a few minutes to spare. Realized that Tradebank had sent an email just a few days earlier about Lakeview Pastry.

Asked them for an assortment of their cookies and pastries. Got 2 boxes full of goodies.

Alejandra really enjoyed the gingerbread man. "Want to start with his arm or his legs?" "Legs." it was a crumby end to the gingerbread man.

Kevin had a sample also, left one for Jackie. Did she get a taste or not?

Took the rest to Franco and Fina who had her sister visiting from Panama. The boxes were empty by the end of the day.

Picnic on the Street

Saw some people across from the church having a get to-gether, a party, or a reunion?

Makes me glad that when we have a picnic at our house, we have a lot of grass, trees, the pool, etc.

Creates a whole different ambiance. All that Green!

Where There's Smoke

This winter the purple smoke bush died back. Sometimes we used to call them smoke trees and sometimes we called them smoke bushes. They can get to be up to 15 ft tall. For sure this one is reduced to being a bush. (At least for now.) The new growth is certainly coming out strongly. Maybe this was for the better in the long run.

Lettuce be Thankful

This morning harvested the last 6 leaf lettuce plants from the garden. One or two have just started to bolt. Been so cool, and damp. Lucky that they have held on for so long.

What Kind of Caterpillar on the Trumpet Vine

Found an unusual caterpiller crawling on the trumpet vine. Not sure what kind. Sort of reminds me of the inchworms the way it arches its back. Will have to do more research and report back.

Maybe a stick caterpillar?

One Thing I Lack

Clematis- this is one plant that I have not gotten around to having in my collection of lovely ornamental plants. Had one along the shed, but it was too warm there -too much concrete near by.
Just haven't found the right place yet.
